Muslims and War

I'm not really one who likes to discuss religion because I feel its a conversation that can lead to disrepectful judgements of others just because of opposing points of views. I will say that since were are in the middle of a war I think the Muslim religion is crap, not due to the fact of how it was created but for just 1 of their beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own ideas and beliefs, but I say its crap because if someone else doesn't see their point of view then the answer is to wage war against the opposition and destroy them. I know that all religions have a history of wars behind them but within modern times religions have supressed war like ideas and use media or propaganda against other religons, at least slander is verbal not physical. It's too bad the Muslims have to go about their faith using violence and force.

I will agree with you that violence is not the end all, but the Muslim religion is not the only religion to adhere to violence. It doesn't take much searching in history to find war or violence, and although the Muslim religion is involved in these cases, I don't find it a good reason to call an entire religion "crap". There are so many dfferent religons that include thousands upon thousands of opinions, but without trying to understand where the anger and feelings come from, we as on lookers will never be able to fully understand.

We can't judge a whole religion just because there are some people that decide to fight and do crazy things using the religion as an excuse and a shield to their actions. Islam is all about love to God and people, and always doing the right thing. It is also against violence and murder. I have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of Muslims and they are excellent people. They are very passionate about their religion and culture but not all of them defend it with violence. And what about the Inquisition? Back in those days religions had to find ways to get followers, and they did it in the most horrible way. The thing is that recently we have only heard of violence acts under the name of Islam, and those acts were against this county. I don't blame you for feeling that way about this religion, but there is a lot more to learn and understand.

I fully agree with your view on violence and religion, as I've seen the same things and experience similar in the area I live. Although it's not just related to the Muslim religion, that's the main one in the news lately. In the past there's been violence from many different views - such as the Crusades or the Thirty Years War. Unfortunately, religion is a very touchy topic for a lot of people, and some people take it very personally. It ends up basically that if your religion isn't theirs, you're saying theirs is inferior. While this isn't always the case, it's often the cause of many conflicts.
